Our Mission

Founded in 2023, Rescue Pets Inc. is a volunteer-run, foster-based, 501(c)(3) pet rescue based in Southeast Michigan. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and—when they’re ready—place pets in their perfect forever homes.

After years of working with various animal rescue organizations, we set out to create what we believe is a new kind of rescue. For us, rescue should never be motivated by profit. Every member of our team is a volunteer, which means 100% of donations go directly toward the care of our animals—not salaries.

We believe rescues should be honest, passionate, and approachable. We work to form personal, meaningful connections within our community and continue to build on those relationships.

At RPI, our pets aren’t “just animals”—they’re family. We love staying connected with adopters and cherish every update we receive. As we grow, we look forward to welcoming more pets and people into the Rescue Pets Inc. family.

Meet the Team

Molly

Director

Hi! I’m Molly! I’m an engineer at General Motors and a proud graduate of Kettering University. I began working with rescue dogs in 2017 as a volunteer at a local shelter, and in 2020 I started fostering—quickly diving in full force with a local rescue group.

As the rescue grew, so did my passion for helping animals. That passion inspired me to partner with Justina to make an even bigger impact. Over the years, I’ve fostered dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes, and I’ve loved every moment of working with both the dogs and the amazing people who help them.

I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them thrive in their perfect forever homes.

Director

Hi, my name is Justina, and I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I fully dove into rescue in 2019, and it quickly became a huge part of my life. I’m a wife, a mother to four amazing children, and the proud pet parent to quite a few animals of my own—not counting the constant rotation of fosters coming and going through our home.

My husband is my biggest supporter and jumped right into the whirlwind of rescue and foster life alongside me. It brings our whole family so much joy and has taught our children countless valuable life lessons about compassion, responsibility, and kindness.

We strive to give each dog the best possible care—whether it’s Rescue, Recovery, or Rehome—and then, we do it all over again.

Where do our animals come from?

Animals in our care come from a variety of situations, including:

Local animal control facilities
Transfers from other rescue groups
Non-local animal shelters
Owner surrenders
Strays

We never discriminate based on where a pet comes from. Our mission is to help as many animals as possible, partnering with both local and national organizations to combat the overpopulation of homeless pets and give them the second chance they deserve.

History

Rescue Pets Inc. was formerly known as At Home Dog Rescue. In 2023, we came together as a team to revamp, rebrand, and reimagine our mission. With fresh leadership, expanded resources, and a renewed commitment to making a difference, Rescue Pets Inc. was born—ready to save more lives than ever before!
